American Financial Group has entered into a definitive agreement with Cigna for the purchase of its Supplemental Benefits Division - Medicare Supplement, Hospital Indemnity, Specified Disease and Health business. Through this agreement, Cigna will purchase all Great American Supplemental Benefits Group insurance companies with the exception of Great American Life, Continental General and United Teacher Associates insurance companies.

Cigna is a Fortune 100 company with significant experience in the health market as one of the largest health service companies in the US market. Cigna also operates internationally in 30 countries, and has approximately 70 million customer relationships worldwide. Headquartered in Bloomfield, Connecticut, Cigna serves its customers with nearly 35,000 dedicated employees.
